Medication review, everything OK. I can now pause the Amlodipine, but must wait a week before eating grapefruit. I should monitor my blood pressure the first week of each month and send the results to the pharmacist at Brownsover Medical Center.
Since I was diagnosed with high blood pressure I have been taking Amlodipine and Ramipril. While taking the Amlodipine I cannot eat Grapefruit as it interacts with and negates the effect of Amlodipine. For the past year or so I have been watching my diet so as to lose enough weight to reduce my blood pressure sufficently that I can discontinue the Amlodipine. Success
