Wednesday 1st February 2023

Fuel boat, Halsall, came by. Started on drawers for desk. Made a fruit cake but replaced the sugar with the same weight of plums, excellent.

Thursday 2nd February 2023

Dave Thompkinson (the CRT customer services person for this area) OKed my decision to stay till my health problems are sorted out.
Took Iowner into Atherstone to empty bogs and get rid of rubbish. Took the bus into Atherstone in the afternoon to collect my parcels and get some clamps, some elastic and some cord.
One of my recent deliveries was for some new LED lights. I purchased two types both of which I like, now to decide which ones to use to replace all the old fixtures.

Friday 3rd February 2023

Fitted two more lights and ordered another four. Bus to Nuneaton to get Peg Clamps.
Home made pizzas tonight, still working on how to make them these were the best yet.

Saturday 4th February 2023

Didn't make a Chicken and Mushroom pie but did get the recipe for pastry made with oil (not olive oil as it introduces flavour to the pastry).
Dragged the sheets of ply that I keep behind the bed out.A little bit mouldy on the wall side but this seems to have prevented the bedding getting mouldy/ It has all been there for nearly a year while Iowner was at a mooring and I was off travelling in Dennis.. Hopefully now I am in residence again I can keep on top of the mould./p>

Sunday 5th February 2023

there are three lift up panels in the floor giving access to underfloor storage. The panels are made of particle board and really not smooth at all but heavily textured. Today I started on a long process of making the panels smooth enough to take paint. Spent quite a long time sanding and filling one of the panels till it looked smooth enough for paint and gave it a coat of floor paint.
Finished another drawer for the desk. Made a 'tin cutter'. It is really difficult to cut the top and bottom off a tin can leaving just the body for use later.
Fixed a piece of trim to hold a strip light for the solar panel controller board. Repaired the speaker plug and made a power lead for the DVD.

Monday 6th February 2023

Two more coats of floor paint for the panel - I'll put it down tomorrow, then I can stop jumping over the gap. Only one more drawer to finish the pedestal desk bar the varnishing. Made a jig to cut pop cans up to use them for crafting. Shopping in Atherstone, meals for three days.
Rang the doctors. My contact details have been changed to email and text as I do not live at 8 Newbold Road, that is just an accommodation address.

Tuesday 7th February 2023

Construction of pedestal desk complete, now to varnish it.
Fitted Z hinges to a solar panel, works a treat, now I can point it at the sun. Made another three pairs of Z hinges. Cut down the enormous throw so that it better fits the bed,

Wednesday 8th February 2023

Varnished the pedestal desk and made some drawer knobs, easy when you have a lathe on board.
Shopping in Nuneaton for fresh vegetables, fruit and nuts, busses late as usual.
Second coat of varnish on desk.

Thursday 9th February 2023

Fitted pedestal desk, it's great!. Made a modified soda can cutter. Fitted Z hinges to second solar panel/
Investigated pastry recipe using wholemeal flour and olive oil. Investigated minced beef and onion pie recipe and made one.
The limp on my knee has almost gone, it is more like a bruise than a tennis ball now.

Friday 10th February 2023

Shopping first thing, a real priority for me.
Made a soda can trimmer - can't think why, I won't use the metal sheets produced.
Took the shelf out of the kitchen sink cupboard, cut it in half in preparation for repositioning the water pumps. I am planning on building new galley units and sink top. I have put up with the plastic sink since I purchased the boat and I have always planned on replacing.
Cobbled together a hose for the hand held vacuum so I can so I can prepare a couple more floor panels, without the vacuum the dust gets everywhere.

Saturday 11th February 2023

Filled and sanded two floor panels. Got the chain saw going and cut up all the wood on the roof (bar one log). Stored the chainsaw in th front well deck, padlocked to the gennie hook.
Fixed the door catch from the galley to the bathroom. Fixed the catches for the solar panels on Dennis.
Put a 1991 map of the waterways up on the wall.

Sunday 12th February 2023

Sanded and gave the floor panels two coats of paint.
Appraised water pump situation, regarding the burps, can't put them on the wall, can't put them next to each other. Will just have to leave them on the floor. No burps after undoing everything and putting it all back again.
Started designing the kitchen sink cupboards to accommodate the water pumps under.

Monday 13th February 2023

My twelve noon shingles jab at Brownsover Medical Centre was cancelled. I cancelled the scan request on my knee as they were still going to send it to the Hope Centre.
Made a banana cake with no bananas, more like a big biscuit. Pizza for dinner.
Still took the train to Rugby and collected my post. Got my bus pass, it works and is valid for four years. Purchased the train ticket from a machine, a difficult process.

Tuesday 14th February 2023

Shopping for My No2's birthday dinner - forgot the spring greens. I knew I would be going to Nuneaton tomorrow to purchase vegetables from the Congerstone gardener.
Cancelled the two remaining orders being delivered by EVRI.
Started a puzzle (Two of a Kind, retro cars and narrow boat).

Friday 17th February 2023

Fixed the floppy hearing aid with some micro pore. Took Dennis across to the water point to fill up.
Finished the floor under the cabinet and started preparing the floor under the cooker.
My No2's water pump gave up the ghost so replaced it with the noisy one I took out a week or so ago. Well, would you believe it - nice and quiet now and no burps.'

Saturday 18th February 2023

Reassembled the kitchen now the floor is done. Went shopping in Nuneaton for a clock for the rear deck so I know how long I have been travelling for.
I purchased a little water pump a while ago and today I have been checking it out, no good for a water supply as it has no pressure switch.

Sunday 19th February 2023

Turned round and filled up with water. Tried fitting porthole glass - too small so I had to make a wooden replacement.
Pizza for dinner, pizza dough makes a reasonably good loaf of bread.

Monday 20th February 2023

Spoke to Dave Tomkinson, we are good till 7th March.
Cancelled ultrasound scan at George Elliot hospital as my leg has returned to normal size.
Worked on figurehead. Did a puzzle. Got wholemeal flour, yeast and long life milk.
The pizza baser white loaf was super, easy to make, light fluffy, a bit bland, but can work with that by varying the ingredients.

Tuesday 1February 202321st

Mounted the figurehead. Did a puzzle. Made a pear and raspberry pie, OK with custard. Richard visited.

Wednesday 22nd February 2023

Worked out that I can use the existing worktop for my new sink, if so, I have saved my self £100. Ordered sink, double bowl, arriving on Friday within a one hour slot at Bridge Cottage.
Re-arranged pipework (in my head) so that it is all flush to the back wall.
Shopping in Atherstone and picked up my No2's letter from the post office.
Baked a half loaf and some small rolls (didn't get the second rise that I should have). Finished the pear and raspberry pie.

Thursday 23rd February 2023

Collected flue pipe and silencer for gennie and fitted them. Exhaust is quieter now but the main noise seems to be from the body of the gennie itself. Next stage will be to box it in somehow and then vent it to prevent overheating. Checked on the sink delivery - assured I would get and email.
Checked with Dave Clarke (the builder of Forty Two, now Iowner) who tells me the windows could be Channel Glaze. Checked their web site and the porthole looks the same as mine. Sent them an email. If I get no response I will have to ring them.

Friday 24th February 2023

Sink delivered by ten am, fitted by four pm. Just need to get some taps now.

Saturday 25th February 2023

Tool Station for taps and traps. Wickes for waste pipe. Atherstone for Tee pieces - didn't have any so back to Nuneaton. Got a couple of Te pieces and a couple of reducers.
Taps fitted but no connected. Waste and traps fitted, hopefully no leaks. Cleared space to start building the first cupboard, but still need to reposition the water pumps.

Sunday 26th February 2023

Trip to Nuneaton to get a pair of tap tails with 15mm copper connectors.
Hooray! New sink, new taps all fitted and working - time to start on the cabinets.

Monday 27th February 2023

Got a Tesco delivery - no problems this time.
Made the cupboard to go under the draining board, just needs a back and a door and varnishing.
Sprang a leek but it was just a loose connection - since fixing it there have been no burps.

Tuesday 28th February 2023

Replaced two fire bricks. As is my want I try to keep spares for almost everything because if needed in a hurry can be difficult being homeless.
Made a door, made a drawer for the new cupboard unit.
Rang Warwick County Council regarding the fuel payments, deferred to 6th month.
Rang BCSP, couldn't give me an answer about the tests. Tried Patient Access, they say I have done the test but they have no results yet. Rang the doctor - everything clear.
Filled up with water prior to moving tomorrow.
