Along to Kings lock, where we turned round and then a full days cruising to Benyons Bridge catching sight of a marsh harrier on the way. It is always exciting to spot a bird of prey as for so many years they were few and far between. The other unusual bird we spotted was a raven. I had always believed that ravens were only to be found at the Tower of London, a childhood misconception.

Facilities trip. I have noticed that there are several boats that seem to have been moored for a lot more than 14 days just past Goodwin Bridge on the way to Calverly. When I see this sort of thing I always wonder if they have been abandoned. Ten years ago I might have made enquiries to that effect to see if I could purloin it for not very much money. In fact, thinking back I did make those sort of noises about a boat on the Kennet & Avon canal which, it turned out, was owned by a couple that had split up, but they wanted more than I was willing to pay for it.

I discovered today that an Inviolate Rule is one written in violet ink.
Another comparatively long day ending up t Hughes Bridge a mile or so short of Stanthorne Lock where we usually aim for.

Found my No2's leak, it is in her Calorifier, now I need to work out how to fix it.

Just hanging around, still waiting for Spring to arrive. I did mange to fix the leak in the calorifier, it was a joint in the pipework coming out of it.
