One of our favourite places to moor at. We watched the river rise and rise and rise until it completely covered the little bridge leading from Church Minshull to the isolated farm.
Herons and egrets were fishing from the bank where the river became shallow at the edges, although it was still quite fast.
My No2 had to curtail her circular walks past the farm and into the village and back along the footpath up to the canal because she could no longer cross the bridge.

I can catch the bus from the bus stop outside Higher Elms Farm a short way from the bridge. There is actually a bus stop between the telegraph pole outside the farm gate and the 30 sign a bit further on but it is totally obscured by ivy. Caught the 31 but to Crewe for some fresh vegetables.

You can't have too much of a good thing but when needs must we have to move on. Time to empty the loos and fill up with water, dispose of some rubbish and do a little speciality shopping so it's off to Calverly again where we can catch the bus into either Chester or Nantwich, whichever is most appropriate for our needs.

Rich on Chamberlain's fuel boat arrived today. We purchased 21 bags coal (we have settled on the 20kg bags of Excel, it burns well, with little ash and I can manage to carry them around). 140 odd Lt diesel and a 13kg Calor gas. I seem to go through gas much more quickly than my No 2 as I have a gas water heater and I do most of the cooking on Iowner.

Went to Chester to get my medication. I order my repeat medication by email and I always include an update as to what pharmacy I am using, however it seems that the person who deals with it ignores that part of my email.
My water bottle burst (I probably laid on it during the night) so I had a wet duvet, wet sheet and a wet mattress. My No2 did a sterling job of drying everything and de-moulding behind my bed in the process.
Slept on Iowner for the night so as to give my mattress on Dennis a bit longer to dry out before I resumed sleeping on it.

Delivery booked from ASDA for today. The driver tells me he nearly didn't make it due to the icy roads, but all's well that ends well, we are good for food for a few more days.

No matter how hard I try I never seem to get everything I want when I get a delivery. Often it is just because I miss it off the order but just as often it is because some items are not available on the day. To get the items missing on the most recent delivery I popped in to Chester, always a nice place to visit and convenient for most shops.

While getting our weekly supply of fish from Iceland and a few other bits and pieces from Tesco I investigated the camera shop and managed to purchase a memory stick for my No2's camera as the one she has is full.
