Blynda came along to supervise my cataract operation and stayed for a couple of days while I recovered. Actually there wasn't much recovering to do, just getting used to seeing almost properly with one eye and not at all well with the other.
6th Rugby 36½ miles 25 locks
Off to Rugby to see about getting a new pair of
spectacles that will work for my old, still cloudy, still
short sighted eye and my new clear vision corrected
eye.
Arrived at Rugby, booked in to the optician and had a check
up, too soon for new spectacles, come back in three weeks
or so.
26th 7 miles Rose Narrow Boats
I booked Forty Two in with Rose Narrow Boats for blacking and decided to change the name to Iowner while it was out of the water. While they were doing the job I stayed on board. They also made two new tee pieces and welded them on the front either side of the locker cover. Much easier to reach them when mooring up. It had become quite a stretch to reach the centre tee piece especially when the boat was a little way out from the bank which often happens when moored on a curve. Renamed Forty Two to Iowner while it was out of the water.
31st Hilmorton 2 miles 3 locks
Checked in with optician - all OK passed with flying
colours. I say flying colours, now I can see everything
properly instead of being tinged with yellow.
Will put me down to have the other eye done soon.
