Stopped off overnight on our way to St Martins where my No2 intends to re-paint the roof of Dennis which is getting a bit tatty with all the bags of coal being dragged over it.

Settled in for a while a short way past the water point with the idea that we can reverse up for water if the need arises. Did a sterling job of preparing the roof on Dennis with the cordless power tools I have, the angle grinder with a stiff wire brush on it, the rotary buffer/polisher/sander and the multitool with the sanding attachment. All in all it took the best part of two days to get the preparation done and then another two days for my No2 to get a couple of coats of primer and a coat of undercoat on.

Getting bit on the hot side where we were moored so decided to find somewhere with a little more shade.

Turned around and went back to the water point (ish). Another coat of undercoat and then two coats of gloss finish for Dennis's roof.

All the coal went on my roof as there was no way it could go on Dennis till the paint has properly dried, another week at least. Fortunately I had re-organised my roof storage so that I can get ten bags of coal on a wooden tray affair that keeps the coal off the actual roof surface and I can cover it with a roller blind so that the ultra-violet rays from the sun will not deteriorate the plastic coal bags too much.
